CData Virtuality Studio Help

CData Virtuality Studio is a part of the CData Virtuality Platform and is used to administer CData Virtuality Server. DataVirtualilty Server unifies and speeds up access to various data sources by creating and maintaining an Analytical Storage. Data from CData Virtuality Server can be served to arbitrary BI tools via CData Virtuality JDBC / ODBC drivers.

You can get reports running at the most optimized speeds by following these 5 simple steps:

  1. Configure CData Virtuality Server
First, start CData Virtuality Studio and connect to the Server. Then, using CData Virtuality Studio, configure the Analytical Storage and add your Data Sources to the CData Virtuality Server.
  2. Create Virtual Views
Having configured the Data Sources, create views (e.g. business views to rename technical field names into business-friendly names, to convert their data types, to create calculated fields, to eliminate the need of typing long queries etc.).
  3. Start using reporting tools
Directly connect a reporting tool to the CData Virtuality Server and define reports targeted at the views or Data Source tables.
  4. Confirm speeding up of reports
Confirm report optimization via CData Virtuality Studio.
  5. Continue using reports at the optimal speeds
Re-run the reports and benefit of their fast execution.
